How much does it cost to start?

It cost $49.00 for the first month. This amount includes tuition, uniform, school patch and sparring gear. Purchased separately, it would cost $134.00.

How much is it after the first month?

Monthly tuition depends on class schedule and number of family members training. Please call to get details for your personal schedule.

How old do you have to be to start training?

You must be 3 ½ and potty trained to begin training. There is no upper age limit.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No contract is required. Tuition is paid on a monthly basis.

Can I stay and watch the class?

All parents/family members are welcome to watch any class at the dojo. There is a “parent area” and a playroom for siblings.

How will I know it is time to pay tuition?

Tuition is due on the 1st or 15th of the month, depending on when training is started.

How often do sessions start?

You can sign up and begin training any time during the month and any day of the week. There is no waiting for a session to start.

How long until I get my next belt?

Progress is individual. The more you put into your training, the faster you will progress. In general, the average student will promote to orange belt in 3 to 6 months.

How much does it cost to test?

There is no fee to test. Students are “testing” during every class. There is a fee to register your belt prior to each belt promotion.

Then how long will it take to get a black belt?

Again, the more you put into training, the faster you will progress. In general, people take approximately 5 to 6 years to reach black belt.

How many degrees of black belt are there?

There are 10 degrees of black belt. At this school, you can reach 5th degree.

How big are the classes?

Each beginning class has approximately 20 to 30 students at any given time.

How many teachers are in each class?

In addition to the lead black belt instructor, there are usually 2 to 3 other black belt instructors and 3 to 5 assistant instructors.

How do I make up classes that are missed?

There are no “make up” classes. Full program students may attend any class that is age and rank appropriate.

My knees are bad. Can I still do karate?

Yes you can. Stances and techniques can be modified to accommodate almost any physical limitation.
