AAKS Families,
As many of you know, the city is evicting us from our building to demolish the entire mall to make way for the Downtown Revitalization. We have been looking for a new building for quite a while. However, we have been unable to find a spot to move our school.
Therefore, even though the city has not provided us with a hard date to vacate the premises, based on our soft 90-day notice, we will have to be out of the building by mid-October. This means that we will run classes until October 3rd, at the latest. We will have to close, at least temporarily, until we find either a temporary or permanent location.
In the meantime, we will be running classes like normal.
We do need the help of our karate families: we ask that you send an email to the City Council (emails provided at the bottom) letting them know what our school means to you and the community. We would really appreciate it. We hope it will make a difference in how they view our business, help them realize how important we are to the community, and how much business we would bring to a revitalized downtown.
On a more personal level, we appreciate every one of you. This school would not be anything without our amazing students and families. Some of you have been with us since I took over from Shihan, some have been with us through COVID, and some of you have just started your journey with us. To all of you, thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your children, their self-defense training, their martial arts journey, and letting us be a part of your parenting team.
I am so proud of all my students and how far they have come. Their discipline, drive, self-confidence, dedication, and everything they have accomplished has been incredible to see. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to make such a huge difference in our community. We hope that we get the chance to continue.
Sincerely,
Nicole Lipari
